NEW DELHI: Bollywood come out in support of superstar Shah Rukh Khan after he was banned from the Wankhede Stadium for five years following a scuffle with MCA officials.

The 46-year-old actor and co-owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders ( KKR) said that he lost his cool when he saw MCA officials manhandling his daughter and other children.

B-town was all praises for the actor and took to Twitter to say that his action was justified.

Director and friend Karan Johar said, “SRK is one of the best fathers I know and protective about every child. He was being just that, a protective parent!!! Why blame a man who was just reacting as a father… who wouldn’t have done the same in his place?”

Actress and new mother Celina Jaitley said, “Speaking even as a new mother of twins, when it comes to one’s children a parent will go to any length to protect them, SRK is a good dad. When it comes to my children I would go to any lengths to protect them, he was being a dad at that moment… are stars not human?”

“Kahaani” director Sujoy Ghosh also voiced his support for SRK, saying, “Read about the SRK incident. I think @iamsrk was very decent about the whole thing. I’d have ripped their heads off if it was my daughter (sic).”

Director Anurag Basu said, “SRK’s behaviour is completely justified, I’d have smashed their heads if it was my daughter.”

Music composer-singer Vishal Dadlani tweeted, “Straight up. Touch my family, I destroy you. No question. SRK was right.”

“I’ve got first hand reports of the fracas with @iamsrk. His daughter was touched and shoved. He protected. Well done Dad!! At Wankhede, SRK was a father, not just an actor… Please don’t expect a father to apologise for protecting his baby.. Satyamev Jayate (sic),” TV actor Ronit Roy tweeted.

Adult films star Sunny Leone, who has entered Bollywood, and is shooting for her first movie, Jism 2, has been hogging the headlines for quite a number of reasons! Many of her fans from the adult film world, were however a tad unhappy, at the thought of her entering mainstream cinema. But, cheer up folks! Sunny has revealed in a recent interview that she will not leave the porn industry. Sunny said, “I will be involved with the adult film industry in some capacity or the other, even if I’m not in the front of the camera. I work in a few porn films, though for some reason people feel that I am actively involved. I hardly do one (adult) film a year.”

Adding to this, she went on to say that she considered herself to be somewhat of a conservative girl, in the porn world. She says, “In fact, I consider myself a very conservative girl in the (porn) industry.” With Jism 2 shaping up nicely, and Ragini MMS 2 in the kitty (no pun intended), Sunny’s production house, Sunlust Pictures is getting ready to release Rachel Roxxx Your World, their latest offering to the porn world, this week. Whatever said and done, Sunny is not shy to accept that what and where she is now, is because of her decision to enter the porn film industry.

Sunny also said that she is considering shifting her base to Mumbai. Go Sunny!

Maruti Suzuki is struggling to meet demand for its new utility vehicle Ertiga that has got 32,000 bookings in the first month since its launch.

The waiting period for the Ertiga, especially some of the diesel variants, is already as much as six months, while the company can only roll out 6,000 units a month. The company is facing a similarly long waiting period for other popular models such as the Swift and Swift Dzire.
“We have actually five manufacturing units in Gurgaon and Manesar now, most of these units are flexible in manufacturing so we can move capacity from one to another,” said Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer (Sales & Marketing). “Right now our team is trying to increase the capacity of Ertiga and use the flexible manufacturing operation to give a net increase.”

Analysts, too, say the capacity constraints won’t last long. “I don’t think capacity will hamper growth in sales for Maruti Suzuki. It’s a matter of time before Maruti adjusts the capacity for Ertiga and its other models. I would give it a quarter,” predicted Sharmila Joshi, Head-Equity, Fairwealth Securities.

Part of the reason for the demand for the Ertiga is price: at a starting price of Rs 5.89 lakh, it is one of the most economical utility vehicles in the market, with the top end at Rs 8.45 lakh. In comparison, the top-end variants for competitors such as Toyota’s Innova and Mahindra’s Xylo are priced at Rs 13.54 lakh and Rs 10.47 lakh, respectively.

However, the automaker is expected to raise prices in July. “Yes, we are certainly looking at increasing the price and we will be reviewing it in a few months,” Pareek admitted.

The seven-seater Ertiga is also a big worry for manufacturers such Mahindra & Mahindra, which is the leader in the utility vehicle space, with over 50 per cent market share. In fact, M&M has been developing a compact utility vehicle ‘Mini-Xylo’, expected to be launched by July.

Other manufacturers that are lining up multi-utility-vehicles (MUVs) along the lines of the Ertiga include Chevrolet that will launch ‘Enjoy’ by October, Ashok Leyland (‘Stile’) and Nissan (Evali) by Diwali in India. Ford and Renault are also planning to launch multi-utility vehicles in India in the next two years.

Average monthly utility vehicles sales in India are around 30,000 units. MUVs are the fastest growing category in the utility vehicles market, with a compounded annual growth rate of 20 per cent, and account for 63 per cent of the 3.7 lakh per annum utility vehicles sales in India.

The music of this film can be described in one word: happy. Like all Vidhu Vinod Chopra movies, this album too has a feel good feeling that simply spreads the message of happiness and joy through its music. Music director Pritam Chakraborty manages to churn something new everytime, doing full justice to the theme of the film.

The album opens with ‘Maara Re’ which is a happy song meant for all music and cricket aficionados. Singers Sonu Nigam, Ashish, Aishwarya Nigam and Rana Majumdar bring so much life to ‘Maara Re’ that they do full justice to Swanand Kirkire’s lyrics. The song has fast and peppy beats that gets listeners foot tapping! This song could be used as the next cricket anthem for India!

Next up is ‘Rusy’s Theme’ which is a nice, soft and free flowing song that almost feels as if a flamenco song is playing in the background. Rusy’s Theme sounds very familiar to ‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji’from the film ‘Ishqiya’ but all in all, it’s a pleasant treat!

‘Mala Jau De’ features third on the album and is Vidya Balan’s lavani number in the film where she manages to pull in the audiences! With Vidya’s moves and the catchy music, this is a typical female song that infuses Marathi words and has a very Maharashtrian feel to it. The treatment of the song is very similar to ‘Aika Dajiba’ but it still manages to retain its own individuality. This one’s a sure shot hit!

‘Ae Mere Mann’ is a soft yet intense song and sounds more like a conversation that the singer is having with himself, in this case Shyamantan Das (from Chote Ustad fame) who has a beautiful and powerful voice. The chorus of children singing in the background combined with Swanand Kirkire’s lyrics enhances the song. With the piano playing throughout, ‘Ae Mere Mann’ has a melodious and dreamy feel to it.

‘Goodnight’ sounds so similar to ‘Rusy’s Theme’ except for Priyani Vani’s voice that brings a child like charm to the song. Lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya are well written. Once again, it’s a soft, dreamy and emotional song.

‘Chal Ghoome’ has an almost retro feel to it and this song is so peppy that it makes listeners want to dance to it instantly! With Shaan on the vocals, this song cannot fail to hit the mark. Boman Irani and Aayush Phukan’s voice in the background adds that extra zing to the song. The lyrics are well written and reflect the theme of the film!

Lastly, ‘Life Yeh Mausambi Si’ is a soft jazz like number on the lines of ‘Kaisi Paheli Zindagani’ from the film ‘Parineeta’. Sung by K Mohan in the lyrics of Satyanshu and Devanshu Singh, ‘Life Yeh Mausambi Si’ is refreshing with the singers whistling in the background.

Overall, ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ is an eclectic mix of happy, intense and emotional songs that manages to bring the mood on! It appeals to all ages and the music will work for the youth, women, children and men alike.

Jiaa Manek, a popular household name (she’s the coy and dutiful Gopi bahu of Saath Nibhana Saathiya) has reportedly been approached to participate in the upcoming season of the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa slated to air in June.

The petite actress, say inside sources has taken up the offer, and reportedly the channel is upset with her for saying ‘yes’ to the show despite being told not to take part in the show. There are now talks that she might even be replaced from her show and the production house is supposedly looking for a replacement. Jiaa however, vehemently denies the reports and says, “I’ve no idea about this. It is news to me. Neither the production house nor the channel have talked of getting me replaced from the show.” So, is she finally doing the dance show? A diplomatic Jiaa refused to discuss her “participation” in the dance show with a “no comments” stance. At the time of going to press, the channel didn’t comment on Jiaa’s move. Guess, we’ll have to wait a little for the real drama to unfold.

Sony’s Indian Idol returns on the tube with Season 6 from June 1, but this season the channel has a surprise in store for the audiences. For the past five years, this popular adaptation of the Idol format has served as the ultimate platform for budding singers across the nation.
it has stuck to the original format of the international show all these years, this season the production team will bring a novelty factor. Instead of the three judges — Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim Merchant and Anu Malik, Indian Idol will have four judges on the panel this time.

The producers have asked music maestro AR Rahman to join the team and are awaiting his response. A source close reveals, “Rahman has been approached but he hasn’t reverted. Indian Idol 6 will begin next month with the auditions that will air for almost a month.

If Rahman comes on board, then he will be seen in the Gala round (second round of selections).” Rumours are that if Rahman declines the offer due to his busy schedule, then the team will approach other big names from the music industry.

Among other firsts, the new season of the show will see promotions take an emotional route.

The tone of the promos are based on their catchphrase ‘Har idol ke peeche hote hain najane kitne idol’ (behind every idol, there are many other idols as well). With the popularity of the reality show, the channel is leaving no stone unturned to create the right buzz.

SRK-MCA

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials have lodged a police complaint against Kolkata Knight Riders’ co-owner Shah Rukh Khan for his alleged misbehavior at the Wankhede Stadium. They have even decided to ban him for life from entering the premises.

“He misbehaved and abused the MCA security personnel as well as MCA officials, including our president Vilasrao Deshmukh, after the IPL match,” said MCA secretary Nitin Dalal.

SRK-Salman Khan

There was an time when Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan called each other brothers. But now the rivalry between the two is out in the open. While Salman says “SRK and I can never be friends,” SRK thinks “Salman and I don’t talk which is absolutely right.” So what went wrong?

Things apparently got ugly at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash in 2008. It is believed that SRK made inappropriate comments about Salman’s ex-flame Aishwarya Rai Bachchan which annoyed him.

King Khan in an interview had said that Salman got angry because he turned down a cameo in Main Aur Mrs Khanna (while Salman agreed to do a guest appearance in Om Shanti Om). Salman in turn said he never offered him the film, adding, “Shah Rukh was like my brother. He used to call me sir, sir during his struggling days.”

In 2011, on Koffee With Karan, SRK publicly apologized to the actor saying: “If Salman is angry with me, it is 100% my fault.”

However, Salman retorted saying SRK’s apology was for TRPs.

At Mukesh Ambani’s bash in Sachin Tendulkar’s honor, Salman took a dig at SRK saying: “Sachin ka record todna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai. Aur yeh Don nahi main bol raha hu.”

King Khan reacted saying: “I get numb by the kind of stories I keep hearing about myself. I try not to take them seriously or comment about them.”

SRK-Priyanka Chopra

Family man Shah Rukh Khan has found himself in a link-up controversy for the first time in his career. While SRK is maintaining a dignified silence over the issue, PC isn’t taking it too well.

At a camera launch event, when a reporter asked her about her alleged link-up with SRK, the Fashion star lost it and said with a straight face: “By being extremely loud, doesn’t mean I’ll answer your questions sir. Thank You.”

At the first look launch of her upcoming film Teri Meri Kahani opposite Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka denied SRK was the man who made her blush. “I never said anything of that sort,” she retorted. However, she had admitted it on Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee with Karan.

Shahid and the filmmaker had even teased her with SRK’s name. She is reportedly not on good terms with his wife Gauri Khan and his pal Karan Johar because of these rumors.

The fact that Gauri Khan is missing from the IPL action is creating a strong buzz about a trouble in paradise. Although SRK’s team Kolkata Knigh Riders is performing well this season, Gauri isn’t there by her hubby’s side to cheer and support the team.

The Don star was recently spotted with his sister Shenaz and his children Aryan and Suhana at a nightspot in Mumbai sans Gauri Khan. Is SRK’s link-up with PC the reason? Who knows!

SRK-Aamir Khan

During a promotional event of his TV debut Satyamev Jayate, Aamir Khan praised his colleagues who made it big on TV like Amitabh Bachchan (Kaun Banega Crorepati), Hrithik Roshan (Just Dance) and Salman Khan (Dus Ka Dum). He simply forgot to mention SRK, who has hosted shows like KBC, Zor Ka Jhatka and Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain.

When asked about SRK, he ignored the question. Aamir Khan had also reacted to SRK’s recent detention saying: “I have never faced such problem.”

Aamir had earlier posted on his blog that a dog called Shah Rukh was licking his legs: “Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for? Now, before you jump to any conclusions let me add that Shah Rukh is the name of our dog. And before you jump to any further conclusions let me add that I had nothing to do with naming him. In fact Shah Rukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house.”

Incidentally Aamir is quite close to Salman!

SRK-Shirish Kunder

The RA.One actor allegedly assaulted Farah Khan’s husband and filmmaker Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt’s Agneepath bash. Farah Khan also SMSed reporters saying: “Shahrukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way 2 sort out a problem, n that its means the person who’s hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on, n it saddens me 2 see him doing the same (sic).”

However, the truce happened after Shirish and Farah, along with latter’s brother Sajid Khan and their common friend Sajid Nadiadwala, went to SRK’s home, Mannat.

SRK-Abhijeet Bhattacharya Another addition to SRK’s enemy list is Abhijeet Bhattacharya. The singer recently blasted SRK in an interview saying the actor should apologize to him for not giving him due credit in Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om.

When asked by a tabloid to comment on what Abhijeet said, SRK quipped: “Isn’t it a coincidence that whoever doesn’t want to work with me becomes famous?”

SRK-Airport: Part 1

In August 2009, SRK was detained at the Newark Airport in New Jersey for nearly two hours because of his last name. The actor was visiting the country to attend a South Asian event where he was the guest of honor and was released after Congress MP Rajiv Shukla spoke to the authorities in the US.

King Khan was detained again in April at a New York airport by immigration officials after arriving from India in a private plane with Nita Ambani, to address students at Yale University. While Nita, wife of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and the rest of their group were cleared immediately, Khan was stopped and was given immigration clearance only after about two hours.

He laughed it off with a generous dose of sarcasm. “Whenever I start feeling too arrogant, I always take a trip to America. The immigration guys kicked the star out of stardom,” Khan said, addressing the students at the Yale University where he was honored as a Chubb Fellow.

SRK-Shiv Sena

SRK faced the ire of Shiv Sena after he stated that he would like Pakistani cricketers to participate in the third season of Indian Premiere League. The political party even threatened to stall the release of his film My Name Is Khan. SRK reacted on Twitter saying: “Sad my statements are seen as a stand against a group instead of a stand for myself and my individuality. Differences in ideology should be grounds for debates & discussion. A must for freedom of thought. To see it any other way is so unfortunate.”
