Deliver Me From Nowhere Trailer: Jeremy Allen White Covers Greatest Hits of Springsteen and Divides the Internet

The trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (which was released Friday) has finally arrived with a metallic twang, and boy, is the internet singing – and screaming – about it. In this biopic, Jeremy Allen White (yes, the Bear guy literally turning into the Boss) absolutely belts out Springsteen’s highly recognizable vocals so well that even super fans are scrolling X with “Did he actually sing every note?”

Filmed in the moody and grainy style that makes Bruce’s pretty rough (pre-fame) journey feel real, the trailer categorically conveys Bruce’s past: the “Nebraska”-era intensity is palpable, a rough and raw acoustic foundation is built into the fabric of the film, and the lyrics, the song and the storytelling have White’s husky singing voice with harmonica stuns many (one X user humorously wrote “he sounds JUST like Bruce” while another user said deadpan “Change your name to Jeremy Allen Springsteen!”)

Bruce himself actually weighed in via Rolling Stone during a press event, where he expressed gratitude and restraint: told White to maintain “tolerance” during the scenes full of emotion, and clarified exactly why he did stay off of the set during the softer, more delicate scenes! Now, that’s called handing off the light without stepping on the feet!

But obviously not everyone is ready to stand up and ovate. Nerdist called the trailer “truly terrible,” branding it Oscar-bait pretension. “Oh no,” says Michael Walsh. “This trailer was made for us to be all like no.” For all the critiques, his review includes the acknowledgement that the story, a mid-life reckoning based on the creation of Nebraska, is still interesting and engaging.

Either way, the trailer did what it was supposed to do: entice. “This is not a drill,” one fan bellows on X. Others are more straightforwardly gushing: “About to change my life.” Even commentary from perplexed redditors (“Jeremy doesn’t look like Bruce at least 50% of the time, but, c’mon…!”) shows the earnest fandom it has conjured.

Deliver Me From Nowhere will officially open in theaters October 24, 2025. Based on Warren Zanes’s biography, it shows a quieter, darker Springsteen. The man behind the music of Nebraska.

So yes, Jeremy Allen White does indeed sing. Yes, some fans cheer and some trope away. But one thing we do know for sure: when you finish the trailer you wonder exactly how haunting and hypnotic will this film be? Is this Oscar prep? A fan-driven tribute? A dramatic failure? We will find out, in time and in the full film.
