Whitney Purvis, once a familiar face on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, is dealing with the unimaginable pain of losing her 16-year-old son, Weston Gosa Jr. The young teen was discovered unresponsive on June 2, 2025, and died at a local hospital despite CPR efforts. The cause of death is still pending as an autopsy has not been completed.
However, Weston’s stepmother, Amy Gosa, mentioned Weston had many health challenges including diabetes.
Whitney expressed her deep sadness in a Facebook post, saying, “This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston, is gone. He was only 16 years old. Life is so unkind, and it is so unfair. I just don’t understand.”
Whitney had a rough initial course of life since appearing on reality TV. After she was on 16 and Pregnant in 2009, she had legal problems of her own, including a 2024 arrest for failing to pay over $18,000 in child support for her two sons, Weston Jr. and River.
There she was sentenced to 48 hours in jail and forced to pay child support in addition to the rest of the payments she was forced to make.
